We have 2 adopted kids (13 and 4) and thinking of adding a last and final one to the brood. Any parents here care to share what life is like 3 kids vs 2 kids?

Off the top of my head are -

Pros:

- kids will be there for each other in their older age (hopefully ik not a guarantee)

- playmate in a sense for the 4YO (13 YO is terribly busy in school)

- not really a pro - I don’t think there’s a lot of difference between 2 and 3?

- husband and I love the large family culture

Con:

- firmly in the “must book service apartment or 2 hotel rooms” category when traveling

- we have to split our time and resources ever-more to divide our energy between the 3

- not sure to what extent the 13YO and new incoming can bond….

PS I left out all the pros/cons of “having an adopted child” because this is not intended within the scope of discussion.

Our elder 2 are doing very well schooling, extra curricular and social-wise, and are self-driven kids; so we felt that we do have the energy resources to devote to another.

PPS Gender of the older 2 - 13F and 4M. Any suggestions for preferred gender of the third to make the dynamics work well?
