How do you all actually greet when you meet your cousins after a long time? Weeks to years.

Normal hand shake or Hugs ? How to know if other just wants to say hi or shake hands or hugs

Especially if the cousin is of opposite gender ( M to F , F to M )

How do you all put intensity into that greetings?

Maybe you meet you cousin after long time and you don't really talk to her/him or rarely talk so should one show excitement? And intensity or handshake or hug? hard or soft.
