Dependent Verification Help
My husband and I had a baby in 2025. We filled our 2025 taxes (joint-married) and added all of the information needed about our daughter.
We received a letter in the mail that they needed a copy of her birth certificate and social security card in order to verify. I put the letter aside because I was needing to get the documents from our safe, unfortunately, I misplaced the letter. I’ve looked everywhere. The due date to respond was May something so I’m sweating.
My husband and I both have logged onto our portals on IRS.gov and there is no trace of any letter sent to us. Without the letter, I have no code in order to upload documents on their website. I have no idea where to send these copies in response to the letter I can’t find.
What do I do? Thank you in advance.
