It’s quite ironic that this group cry’s about AI stealing and taking from artists when Vaporwave itself was white artists taking from black art. Like are some of you on drugs or deeply hypocritical

I use AI in my vaporwave, largely trained on my old music when I was a college student. I also train it on my original melodies and VHS tapes home videos from my childhood. It’s been the most fun I’ve had in years creating art. I love vaporwave but I never really cpuld reconcile that the space was largely white artists taking from black artists without consent. I don’t think anyone meant bad intentions, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. I also don’t believe in using AI to train off others work. I thought it would be far more interesting to train it on my own stuff and see what it comes with and then manipulate it further. Stay blessed and keep creating
