SG pilates; $19.90 per class, promotional discounts every month, classes throughout the day (no kidding, from 9am all the way to 9pm, for every hour even classes at 3pm), on classpass for as low as 6 credits

too good to be true?
what we are missing is looking at the instructors schedule!!! that impacts the quality of the classes.

i attended a class at 9pm and the quality of the class was so low; instructor energy is low, no form corrections, the instructor literally sounded like a lifeless robot standing at the same spot. however, after i took a look at their schedule, wow, they were on a 6-hour block, all the instructors' are under the same system, more or less, that's just how the studio functions.

instructors have to work in 5-block shifts, that is teaching 5 classes back to back, no breaks, only 10mins inbetween, that is excluding if you overrun by 1-2mins, having to queue and run to the toilet, interacting with new comers, checking them in since there are no frontdesk staff, questions goes to the instructors, that 10mins break inbetween just becomes nothing.

honestly, i do feel for the instructors. imagine talking non-stop, being constantly on your feet (both literally and figuratively) for 5 hours straight; that is almost diabolical.

so of course, the quality of the classes would not be as good.

also a separate note to classpass reviewers; before leaving harsh comments and reviews online, please do consider this! you are already paying less (pilates classes especially reformer can go up to $30) so of course there will be down sides for the price you pay, including the quality of the classes in this case. honestly the instructors are not to blame for this, having to teach 5-6 blocks back to back, you're not human if you can keep the standards and quality high throughout!

shoutouts to all the sg pilates instructors <3 @ classpass users, please be kind before dropping reviews! words of encouragement can go a long way, trust me.
