Some beers I have to bolus for, like 1-2 units per beer.
Other beers I don't need any insulin as my BG will basically just remain idle or go up a negligable amount.
Mysteriously the calorie and carb content doesn't seem to make a difference. For example there are some higher calorie craft beers with an abundance of carbs that don't affect my BG while there are some light low carb beers that I have to bolus for. I cannot simply drink a certain style or beer with a certain nutrition profile and know what to expect. It depends on the individual beer and I never know until I've tried it.
What gives? Is it certain ingredients? Does anybody else experience this?
