Sora app and platform have officially been discontinued on April 26, 2026, with the API continuing only for a limited time until later this year.
Sora was more than just a tool, it was where many of us first explored AI video, learned prompting, experimented and pushed its creativity.
So before anything else…

🔓 The Floodgates Are Now Open
With Sora gone, r/SoraAI is no longer limited to a single platform.
From today onwards:
👉 All major AI video models (open + closed source) are now allowed on this subreddit.
This subreddit will continue to exist and grow as a hub for:
- Learning
- Experimentation
- Sharing workflows
- Helping each other improve
Also, if OpenAI releases any new video model in the future, it will always be welcome here.
And yes the name r/SoraAI stays.
It represents where we started.

The API is still active until later this year (September), meaning some users may still access Sora through approved integrations.
