I have a family member considering gastric bypass. They are diabetic, and frequently have low blood sugars, sometimes as low as in the 30s. Have any of you dealt with this issue prior to surgery, and, if so, can this be disqualifying? From my understanding, surgery can cause reactive hypoglycemia, so this is a major concern.
