I have a personal/professional desire/need to understand how the former style of trading works, and I have a pretty decent understanding of how the latter works.

Any superficial attempt to look into this gets into “they use quants and data dude”, “they monetize alpha bro”, “they have strategies that scale with capital”, and I simply can’t leverage my existing knowledge to understand what that means.

Please presume that I’m deeply familiar with low-latency trading systems and associated infrastructure, and have also have seen successful machine-learning trading systems based off of well-curated and timestamped market-data.

I’m trying to remember the name of an arcade game I played in the summer of 1990.

It was a vertically scrolling shooter in an arcade cabinet. My memory is that the player character/ship looked like a bat, or at least something with wings. I don’t remember it being a normal spaceship, and I don’t think it was a dragon.

The background was mostly black, so maybe space or just a dark/empty backdrop. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a fantasy landscape shooter.

Games I’m fairly sure it was not:

Dragon Spirit

Dragon Saber

Darwin 4078 / Super Real Darwin

Terra Cresta

Slap Fight / Alcon
