Guys, just wanted to clarify some things here.
Many here are having doubt about the genuinity about the wood we use. How we can give teak furniture at such less rates etc etc.
In Kerala, where we are based, we can get wooden chairs for much much cheaper rates. Even for 1800rs. So, 2700rs is considered a bit pricey here. We have our showroom and many customers were of the opinion that these are high priced. I was genuinely shocked to learn that furniture is such highly priced at other places.
Next thing, we are a family business. This aesthetic teak wood furniture is just a division which I personally recently started. This is kind of like my passion project that I started once I came back from abroad and settled here. I like aesthetic designs and thought these kind of furniture designs will appeal to people. It was started only last September and I am still not sure if it is a good business.
We use mainly teak wood (both imported teak wold from Indonesia and Nilambur Teak) and acacia wood. We also have our own business in China since 2006 and hence, we also have imported furniture. Basically, we are wholesalers of imported and wooden furniture.
Recently, from my post in reddit, u/Euphoric_Peach3746 purchased our folding chair from us and he made a post regarding his purchase on this same subreddit. It was not a promotional post or advertisment. But thanks to him, I got many enquiries through reddit. Eventhough, nothing has been converted to a sale till now, I am happy atleast few people got to know about our business.
Let me end my rant here!!!

Hey everyone!
I’ve been working with furniture (my dad has been doing business, mostly in furniture industry, for last 20 years) for a while now, and one thing that always bothered me was the massive markup on solid wood furniture in big-box stores. I started Navara Living to see if I could bridge that gap—offering that high-end, grainy, "Pinterest-style" aesthetic but at a price point that doesn't require a second mortgage.
I’m really proud of how these pieces turned out (check the photos!), but as a small business owner, the "business" side is much harder than the "aesthetic" side.
I’d love some honest feedback:
From a customer perspective, what’s the first thing you look for when buying wood furniture online?
Does "affordable teak" sound like a red flag to you, or is it a selling point?
I’m also looking for advice on how to reach more people who value solid wood over flat-pack furniture. If you have any tips on marketing or where you usually scout for unique home pieces, please let me know!
(PS: These are the actual images of the pieces, in our brochure, we have edited the images with the help of AI and added mkre aesthetic background and stuff)
