Just got diagnosed with a 5.5cm and 5.9cm fundal fibroids through imaging.

When OB initially manually felt my pelvis she immediately said this is a fibroid uterus, you will need an open myomectomy. I was flabbergasted because we hadn’t even done the imaging yet.

Anyways, while they aren’t small- they also aren’t as big as I thought.

I have an appointment on Monday with a fertility specialist to dive deeper in options to preserve my fertility as I’m on the textbook older side of things.

Anyways, just wanted to know if any of you have been able to have fundal fibroids around my size removed laparoscopically? I know it is location dependent. I think I’ll find that out Monday.

Open myomectomy just sounded like a stretch to make that call right away. The recovery is longer and that means I’ll have to wait another year to try for a baby and be off work longer, as I teach fitness classes. Very frustrating. I’m really praying I’m given a more minimally invasive option.
