Is this really a place you’d want to live for 30+ years? I see how it is nice for a year or so..

It is beautiful to visit or study in. Absolutely!!!! But to live here for 30+ years and never living anywhere else? It seems to be a life where you just live in a loop of the same day repeating in different fonts. Long term life is literally a loop: → another café in Wyck → walk along the Maas → sit in Stadspark → pick a random bistro around Vrijthof → repeat

If you want actual variation or energy, you have to leave the city. And if “you can easily go somewhere else” is one of the biggest selling points… that kind of says everything about the place itself. It’s like saying: ” I love how close my house is to the train station” but you don’t actually enjoy being inside your home.

”But there is nature…..”
It is farmland with some grass and fields. And that is IT. It’s ridiculous. Especially if you’re from a place like say Canada, Norway or any Mediterranean country. No proper woods, wild nature. No ocean, and the ”wonderful” lakes are muddy and not fresh.

”But there’s culture, caves, museums…”
No normal person is visiting the same limestone cave for the 14th time. Once you’ve seen it, you’ve seen it.

”There are lots of restaurants and cafés…”
It is basically the same thing in different fonts.
Want actual niche street food or a genuine REAL kebab or asian food - and not a watered-down version, forget it.
