Help identifying cable and box

Can anyone identify
1: what cable is terminated into this block header?
2: what this box is that said cable is connected to inside my home? Note: this was in place prior to Fios install.
The cable has a knick in it which i noticed while trying to replace my cat6 cable with a cat7. If i can replace this cable as well, I would like to. Or, if I can get rid of the box inside the home, that would be cool as well.
