Upgrading from 2000D - 80D or 90D?

Heya,

About two years ago I bought a brand new EOS 2000D (I was stupid back then and thought it was a good idea) and I want to upgrade now.

I mainly do pictures of bikes for instagram but also occasionally a bit of landscape and just "general" stuff. Until now the 2000D has been fine. The resolution is good enough for my usecase and I have no problems with it.

The reason why I want to upgrade is that I recently tried photographing some wheelies but the slow autofocus and 3 fps just is not enough. It allways takes a few runs to get a sharp, properly framed photo. (Aside from the kit lens I bought a used 85mm F1.8 prime which I mainly uae for this)

Now, I wanted to get a better body and for that decided to sell my 2000D together with the kit lens (keeping thr 85mm) on MPB. I got an offer for about 180€ but it will probably be a bit lower.

Since I'm in university and have to save for some other stuff I cannot spend that much money on it so I narrowed it down to the 60D-90D (needs EF mount for the 85mm). Since I don't want a downgrade in resolution and features the only real options are the 80D and 90D.

I can get the 80D for around 300€ used and the 90D for 500-600€.

So I basically have to spend about 150€ on the 80D and 350-450€ on the 90D.

My current opinion is that the 80D will be enough. It has the same resolution, more fps, more AF points and a better (?) autofocus. The 90D has even more fps and AF points as well as better resolution.

I don't wanna make the same mistake I did with the 2000D thinking "it'll be enough for my use" so what do you think? Is the extra 200-300€ for the 90D really worth it? Should I even upgrade or is it wasted money? Or am I completely missing something?

TIA
