Need to vent & need opinions
So everything happened on Friday. Our store was very busy because it’s 2 days before Mother’s Day. Photo has been going off these past few days with graduation and Mother’s Day orders and free 8x10 orders. People coming to pick up photo orders and regular curbside’s through the closing shift 3-12am. So throughout the night I’m trying to finish up last 4 totes of otc cough and cold isle iykyk it’s a lot of little stuff to go up in that isle and it takes a while to do 4 full totes. I Finnish that when I came back from lunch at 6:30 and I Finnish the totes around 8:30 then do the cashiers lunch from 8:30-9. Nonstop customers and photo order screen is full of orders to be process. Anyways I digress. Someone didn’t put in a pickup on the register from the morning and that messed the money up when I went to count the money down. So it ended up being around -47 short because I took out $50 from a band to balance one of our registers back to $200 because I did a pickup and the register let me pick up more than what was in the drawer. So the register ended up having 187 or so and yea I had to balance it somehow to $200 and the only option was taking it from the band I picked up before I put that band in the system. OKAY so moral of the story my sm came in the morning on Saturday and was upset I guess about the store not being properly faced and the money being short when that literally had nothing to do with me. He told the esm that he’s gonna write me up for it and he had her take pictures of the isles I didn’t get to face. Mind you the little time I did have left I DID go around and straighten up the isles. I can have it proven if they went back to look at the cameras. ATP I’m ready to quit because it’s just me and a cashier at night it’s unsafe 1 and we don’t even get to take a lunch or break most times and that’s ILLEGAL. idk how they expect everything to get done when it’s just 2 people in the whole store I have to come up front for ic3 or cash pickups, cash approvals, orders and they want photo orders to be processed before closing because if theirs orders from the previous day in the que they’re gonna bitch and cry in the morning they gotta process them, also gotta take out the trash in the whole store, everything faced properly and still take time to count tills and make sure all money is accounted for. Idk I just had to vent. Because this shit is getting ridiculous atp and saying you’re gonna write me up over that is crazy. These store managers and higher ups don’t know what it’s like to be in these situations closing with one cashier and having to deal with customers, putting up truck, processing photo and having to count tills and do trash by yourself. It’s alright I will find a new job VERY soon. If you made it this far I want your opinion on what I could have did differently🤷🏽♀️
