This area around my back molar (circled) is extremely irritated and is putting a bad taste in my mouth. My dentist doesn't take my insurance anymore and the only place that would let me in doesn't have an appointment until September. I have multiple areas of decay starting, so I'm doubling down on brushing and flossing. I've started rinsing with a flouride mouthwash. What can I do for this area until I find a dentist that can take me? What does this look like to you? Apologies for the sub-par picture. The gum around it looks kind of "pocketed" to me.

EDIT: I do not smoke or drink regularly. I'll have a smoke once or twice in a year and I drink maybe 4/5 days of the year.
