I haven't played RP-1 yet, I'm still learning stock and having fun with it, but I've been keeping an eye on Mike Aben's series (not watching it to avoid "spoilers"), and he's roughly 113 hours(and that's after however much he edits the videos) into it and only now interacting with the moon, is that standard? I saw he interacted with planes a lot and I've seen people on this sub saying they skipped planes I think? So maybe that factors in, I don't know.

Edit: I'm aware that it takes much longer in game time, I was referring to real time.

So if the oberth effect means the best place to do a burn(specifically prograde/retrograde?) is the lowest point in the orbit (I still don't grasp why) then how come when I'm in a very high orbit it seems like I don't need much ∆v to change my orbit drastically, like it's super easy to go from around the mun's altitude back into Kerbin's atmosphere, but shouldn't my burns get less and less efficient the higher I get?
