I recently made a video about a TikTok controversy. I did it because it’s a hot topic but it has almost 50k views. Usually my likes trickle in and stop around 150-300 likes but this is a lot of attention at once. I have my personal account on that I’ve had since 2018 and my content account I made this year. I’ve just been on my personal because I’ve never had this amount of attention and I don’t wanna look at it. 😖

How do you guys manage it? Is it overwhelming for you guys too?

We all are afraid of the redistricting, which is fair. BUT, from time to time I lurk on conservative forums and a lot of them are saying if things aren’t wrapped up soon then they simply won’t go out and vote. Which means republicans know that the only chance they have to win is if they cheat. Things are that bad.

Also, as someone who lives in Texas I will say the diesel prices surpassed the ones from summer 2022. If you look at the AAA website with gas prices, Nationwide diesel prices are 20 cents from surpassing 2022. This whole time republicans have been using 2022 as a talking point. It’s tired and lazy and proves that they genuinely have no excuse for this. It’s getting to a point where I’ve seen conservatives of all people clarify that that the 2022 gas prices weren’t completely Biden’s fault. Once gas surpasses this, what else is left to be said?

What is even the goal of this war? Genuinely. Plus, the fact the Trump attacked oil refineries means that it will take YEARS for them to be rebuilt and until then the global supply still won’t be what it once was. The fact that he has three years left in his presidency means that it’ll be harder to blame the gas on Democrats if he’s still power.

He’s his own worst enemy. All he does is post on truth social. He can’t help himself. But that means he can’t deny ANYTHING. It’s all there. All those promises are still there. And, the fact that the Republican Party is tied to Trump and full of sycophants means they’ll have to answer to why they supported him. They don’t want to, because they have no answer. Which is why 36 are resigning. Tides are shifting, things were bleak a year ago but people are waking up, gas is expensive, our allies hate us, the world laughs at us and it’s embarrassing. Better late than never I guess 😒

Like you would think that the fact that higher income and educated individuals tend to vote blue would make them put two and two together. It’s no coincidence that the same right wing figures that say education ends in indoctrination are

example: I got to SMU in Dallas. For those who may not know, very expensive (scholarships 🙏) , very WELL CONNECTED. So many rich people send their children here so I won’t lie I enjoy taking advantage of the free stuff😛 . Anyway, the smu school board is actually very neutral and encourages every student to feel free to express themselves however they want, with limits, obviously. Example: there’s a student group that is pro Israel and there is a school building that has the Palestinian flag visible to all students in one of the windows. Another with the gay flag and BLM. Never taken down. But they did have the large flag at half mast of a week for Charlie Kirk. The student body leans moderate- conservative but many students are also neutral because they’re wealthy so it doesn’t really affect them.

The point is: smu, like most colleges has CC (common curriculum ) you have to take. Classes you have to take on problems of the world, ethics, critical reasoning. There are many classes on race, gender, religion , wealth etc… if you don’t wanna take the ethics course then you have to volunteer 15 hours at a place that helps the needy and write a thousand word essay explaining how it opened your eyes to issues we face as a society. so, despite the student body being moderate to conservative ( Think Mitt Romney or John McCain) and from a much higher tax bracket, they still have to take all of those classes. Because both the university and their parents understand that ethics, critical reasoning and other skills are necessary for them to be well rounded individuals. Which is why they sent them there.

So when those right wing influencers say colleges indoctrinate people to the left, what they really mean is they teach people empathy and how to think for themselves. I was in a creative class, our teacher was a trans woman. This guy I knew HATES trans people and was once part of tpusa. By the end of the semester he was conflicted, she gave him a bunch of breaks on grades and worked with him when he was nervous so that he would have a good grade. She revealed she was trans at the end and I could tell he was conflicted. He had spent the semester joking with her and having nice conversations. Someone he had been taught to hate went out of her way to make class comfortable for him. My big sister also went to smu. Many such cases of people coming in with certain beliefs and interacting with people that challenge them.

Another thing : Being on the left, I have also interacted with people they challenge my beliefs. It’s weird interacting with people that vote for horrible people genuinely go out of their way to make you comfortable. I will say, SMU tries very hard to make its transfers and POC students comfortable. My sister graduated in 2023 and she said it wasn’t like that when she went there. I mean they’ve always given transfers more money, so there’s that. They weren’t mean but they weren’t trying that hard. Perhaps the political climate has pushed the school to be more obvious about their stance without actually saying it. I know this because next week a very left leaning political figure is visiting.
Kinda feel bad (not really) for conservatives who let themselves be conned into thinking universities are a waste of time. FAFO

Rant over, bye 😛

Pretty much what the title says. I’m pro choice but I have a friend who is pro life. I highly doubt she knows I’m pro-choice. I don’t really care that much whether someone is prolife or not. I may not agree but a few years I ago I really really sat down with looking at abortion from a prolifer’s perspective and while I may not agree I understand the arguments from that side so I don’t really feel anytype of way about it.

Anyway, this friend is apart of a prolife group on my campus. This is important because a while back they had a meeting where they wrote letters of encouragement for expecting mothers with tips and tricks and all that stuff. I thought that it was sweet. the semester is almost over but I’ve been contemplating sending her a message asking if I can go the upcoming ones next year.

I’m conflicted because if she asks me then I’m not gonna lie to her, I don’t want to lie to her because I really like our friendship and would feel guilty, but I do want to be apart of that meeting. I think motherhood , specifically pregnancy and after birth, is beautiful but certain things (infidelity during/after pregnancy, body dysmorphia in times of social media, exhaustion, PPD) make things challenging in an already stressful time so I want to be there to write letters for the expecting mothers.

Would it be a bad thing?
