I am a 32 year old female, doing not great in life as compared to my peers since I started my career very late as I was preparing for the govt. exams.

Due to stress at the age of 27, I had my first seizure attack while I was coming back from jogging. Since then nothing has been the same for my family and me, especially in marriage hunting scenario because Epilepsy/seizure is seen as a taboo in India.

But our family thought it might be due to excessive stress or something, I had three attacks, with the last attack in the year 2022. We thought it's okay, I moved on with my life and shifted to a new city and started leading a normal life with eating meds on time.

But two weeks earlier i.e., after almost 4.5 years, I had another seizure attack and it broke my parents. They were crying. Plus, I have turned 32 and will soon be turning 33 and while having a tough conversation with my father yesterday, with a heavy heart, he told me that the chances of me getting married is low to nil due to the taboo.

He was sad, and it has been bothering him and this stress is slowly eating him. I can see him breaking piece by piece. My mother who acts very tough, she also broke down this time.

So sometimes I think I wish, I didn't have choosen to give govt exams. I wish I could have taken the other route. So that I did not have a seizure attack at the age of 27.

Also, are there any other epileptic persons or who have seizures in this group especially females who got married ? How did you manage to find that person ?

PS: Thank you all for your concern about my treatment but I am getting my treatment done under Padma Shri awardee neurologist in Delhi. She is nice and sweet.
