My diagnosis experience.
Little background.
38 year old male tradesman from Logan qld
I’ve always had all the symptoms. But it always felt like it was unaffordable and not achievable to get a proper diagnosis and try to fix my head.
One night I had a good conversation with a co worker and he gave me the rundown on his ADHD. I done some googling and thought, you know what F it I can invest the $2000ish dollars in myself if it’s going to improve my life.
I really struggled concentrating at work. At home. My brain would be on constant side quests. And yes I’d be that guy who walk off mid dinner or climb the tree etc.
I was going to the local doctor for a referral for an online phyc to go see.
I noticed the new doctors near my house offer it in house.
3 appointments, 5 weeks and Around $1200 all up I’ve been diagnosed with both ADD and ADHD got around $400 back on Medicare. So approx $800 out of pocket
I started medication today. Ritilian. It hasn’t done anything yet but we will just see what how it does. I have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks to see how it works.
Am little concerned as I work night shift and heavily rely on coffee and 2 x 500ml monster cans just to get started at work. I need to mitigate the caffeine addiction and possibly the migraines that will come with that.
I may continue to post in this thread as I progress along the journey.
Sorry for the dribble lol.
