New displays keep spawning in like a disease
Hello, i seem to have a minor weird issue I can't seem to fix, I have an Asus Rog zephyrus G14 notebook from 2024, with a ryzen 9 and a 4070, I have recently had an issue where all my monitors randomly switched to duplicate instead of extend and after fixing that issue, monitor number 4 appeared (I only have three monitors, one is the default notebook one, then I have one connected to usb c via a display port adapter, and a main monitor going through classic hdmi). I tried disconnecting it through the device manager but accidentally disconnected my main monitor and no safe mode restarts and anything worked, so I had to reset to a day before backup (i know how it sounds but trust me, nothing worked). After the backup loaded the 4th monitor was still there, so i changed it to disconnect and didn't think much of it.
Today I installed the new Nvidia drivers and after uninstalling the old ones the monitor layout reset and my main monitor (now number 5) was way off and the new monitor 4 was in its place. So i set the 4th monitor next to number three (the original number 4) and also set it to disconnect. Going to device manager and disabling it hadn't worked (I disabled it then restarted the notebook and it was back)
For now the twins aren't causing much issues and I am mostly laughing with my friends about it, but I am intrigued to find out what's causing it and how to avoid/get rid of it.
Any help is appreciated.
