Hi everyone.
I've just been contacted by an agency to do AI post-editing work, which is already something I'd rather not do if circumstances were better. I'm sure we're all familiar with these AI-related misgivings. Along with this, the project also has tasks for 'prompt review'.
I don't use AI in my personal life or in any other line of work, so I accepted the AIPE and translation work but turned down the prompt review part of it.
Now the agency has said that it might not be possible for me to be part of the project without doing prompt review work.
On one side I already do not want to help make AI translation 'better', and am now considering turning the whole offer down (I luckily have other work I can lean on to get by). Even if I were not opposed to genAI and LLMs, I never use them anyway. I don't think I would be much help in refining or reengineering their AI translation prompts.
So I'm making this post to see if other people have had experience dealing with this sort of work. Do you have any suggestions for me? Should I hold out and hope that a good human translation project comes along soon?
