hey y’all, im starting out as a new agent, just about to take the exam for life and health insurance here in texas. i don’t have any sales experience outside of hospitality or retail roles, but i’ve gotten plenty of recruiters reaching out to me.
honestly, going into this seemed simple to me whether to be independent or captive. i know i’m going to go captive just to get the hang of it first and receive training, then later go independent. but there’s so much discussion in here using buzzwords i have no idea about and i just feel clueless stepping into this industry.
does anyone have advice for new agents? what to watch out for or what companies to stay away from when going captive?
