I’ve never posted on reddit before but i’m super confused so here goes nothing.
I (F29) have been on a few dates with a guy (28). The dates have been great (honestly some of the best dates I’ve been on in a while). We have the same values in life, the same outlook on what we would like to future to look like and i feel like we’re both super into each other. He has also said that he would like to keep seeing me because he enjoys the time spent together.
However, the catch is that he has just gotten out of a long term relationship and says he’s not ready for anything new/serious. He and his ex broke it off 3 months ago, so pretty fresh imo. I have been dating with the intention to meet someone I can build a future with.
My intuition tells me that I should just cut it off because chemistry and fun dates do not outweigh the fact that he’s not looking for anything serious. However, I also feel like it is impossible to know if you like someone or not after a couple of dates and could be worth it to give it a chance.
I’m wondering if there are people who have been in my shoes where it did end well, or where it eventually led to something real, or if it’s just a recipe for disaster and heartbreak?
