Thank you to anyone who takes the time to look and reply - I’m not asking others to do my cal counting for me, I just want a sense check. I’m new to CICO (I used to do endurance sports and was able to just eat whatever. I developed a chronic illness a year ago and am now sedentary but have seemingly been eating like I’m still doing 10-12 hours of intense exercise a week so now trying to loose 17 1/2 lb. It’s early days so can’t say whether what I’m counting is truly matching my budget (1340) but I want to try my best to be doing it right.

I’ve been calculating using weight and using the cal ref on packaged foods or using what My Fitness Pal suggests for fresh/unpackaged stuff. Sometimes I’ve altered the weight in MFP to match the total calories a packet suggests (I’m presuming the manufacturer is more trustworthy here?!) I am measuring oil carefully as I know this is a common underestimation food.

I batch cooked this bolognese earlier and it made 9 portions, with 1 portion being 1 cup volume. Is it possible that the suggested cal total of 167 per portion can be correct?! I would have expected it to be higher, but like I said I may have no idea what I’m talking about.

If anyone with more experience would be kind enough to let me know if this seems plausible or way off, I’d be very grateful!
