after a year of a slow transition from my incredible doc at UM, I really need to find a new primary care doc around here (Royal Oak-ish but work in Bloomfield Hills and willing to drive for someone good!). I’m a woman in my late 20s and I have some chronic health issues that require me to have someone that I can see a few times a year for medication monitoring and whatnot, though things are super stable and good right now (but gotta be prepared for things to change whenever). I’d love to find a woman doc, preferably in family medicine but I’m open to IM too. I tried an FM in RO and she was actually horrible, so I’m hoping that recommendations can help steer me to someone good who stays up to date on research and best practices and also views their patients as active participants in their care. Who’s the best person you’ve seen around here?

Wedding is still a ways off (May 2027) but given lead times on a dress like this, kinda panicked. Our ceremony and reception are both indoors in a hotel ballroom, so I don’t need to worry about grass or anything. I love it, I think. It’s what I imagined, basically. it is Ines Di Santo (not sure the dress’s name, cannot find the dress on the brand’s website so I think it may be something exclusive to boutiques or whatever). Veil is Maria Farbinni— we already ordered that because it completely changes the gown. Material is some type of mikado. The dress has a removable hoop (why the skirt has some “volume” in a few of pics but less in others) and I dig that bit. I’m 5’11 and still will need to figure out shoes but leaning towards flats/kitten heels bc I just don’t regularly wear heels (my fiance is several inches taller than me so heel height doesn’t matter too much).

I’ve lost about 90 lbs over the last 18 months and plan to lose another 30 ish (consultant is aware of this and we sized down bc of this given rate of loss & whatnot; she also said this wouldn’t be too problematic to alter if I lose more than the size down). I am a bit chesty (like a 36 H) so the strapless dresses stressed me out a bit tbh. I didn’t really try on anything that wasn’t A-Line or a fuller skirt bc I didn’t really envision a tight fitting dress (I’ve been fairly overweight for the last few years so have tended to avoid that stuff anyways).

I did say as soon as I saw myself in the mirror, this is the dress. So I committed. I don’t look esp glamorous here and I realize my posture isn’t great so ignore those factors! Did I make the right choice?
