I graduated with a BSc(H) Computer Science degree in July 2024 from a mid-tier university. Due to some health issues, I was unable to dedicate myself to applying for graduate roles in Software Engineering, and I'm now approaching 2 years without being able to land one. I'm now working in retail, and I despise it. I love programming and really want a job in tech, but with each application season, I'm seeing fewer job opportunities that I'm eligible for, as postings are now stipulating that you have to be a recent graduate to apply, and junior roles are requiring at least a year of professional experience. I don't know how I can get my foot in the door at this point. Before anyone asks, I am a UK national in London.
