So me and my friend have been debating this point for a few weeks and it is getting heated. I will set this up as evenly as i can so as not too influence anyones decision.
So person 1 is in a meeting and unavailable when person 2 calls. The call is missed. Person 1 does not communicate with person 2 in any other way until after brunch. In the conversation after brunch person 2 claims that person 1 was invited. Person 1 maintains they were not invited since there was no message relayed. Person 2 insists since the call was made, the invitation was sent and person 1 was invited.
Person 1 is not upset, they understand there was an intention to invite, but still believes they were not invited because the message was not delivered.
We have decided to request reddits help on this, this ongoing debate is affecting the people around us.
