I’m a new PIC and the pharmacy I am currently in charge of has prescriptions in file cabinets dating back to 2017. In my state, I am only required to retain these for 6 years. Does Walgreens have an official way to dispose of these, or do I just have them shredded like everything else?

Today I had someone who was ready to chew my head off (and nearly did after nagging for 17 minutes) because someome yesterday told them a med would come through cenfill for today, and it did not come in.

It was in an MFC status of something like “routing error” which I have never seen before. I re-attempted and got routing error again, but after doing it a third time it seemed to stick.

Has anyone had this before? And do you know what causes it?
