Why does Riot consistently allow ranged champions to be the best meta picks in Toplane?
I keep watching Toplane tier lists for each patch, high elo pickrates, and winrates, and it's always the same or even worse: Jayce, Rumble, Vayne, Varus and now Anivia... I didn't mention the non mustache man ones like Gnar, Aurora, Teemo, and Cassiopeia (btw, the only reason people don't complain about them is because they haven't faced good ones).
The worst part is that this is nothing new. Rumble and Jayce have been the best toplaners in the game for so long that you just have to accept that riot wants this to be the toplane meta. I'm just pointing out the fact that riot actively wants the lane to be filled with toxic, uninteractive ranged bullies and then wonders why it's the least played role the higher you go up the ladder. I don't think we realized that ranged toplaners being the best is what Riot WANTS, and it sucks. I mean, 6 out of 15 of the most picked toplaners are ranged, and the 3 most picked ones in the highest level of play are ranged and it has been like this for a very long time
