I did it! After years of procrastinating!

I’d always loved writing stories as a kid. I set that aside when I went to university… but, I started my ‘revived’ writing journey thirteen years ago, with short stories and a short film script. I had ideas, and I let them rattle around too long, so I turned those into stories.

It worked.

I started my first attempt at novel writing back in 2018. I thought I was so cute. Ha! I stalled about 1/2 through. Life got in the way, I got distracted.

Last year, my manager, who I deeply respected got rif’d (let go). It was a wake up call. I can’t be half-assing what makes me happy. I ditched all distractions and wrote on my phone in my spare time, that became Forty-Nine, my first published novel.

Forty-Nine tackles dystopian from the point of view of a young couple in Charlotte at the start of an authoritarian AI regime hell-bent on war with aliens. It was fun to write.

And I’m not done yet, I have an invisible man novel coming out next, as well as a solar punk coming of age, a cozy amnesiac mystery, a sci-fi romance and a series of short stories in flight. Taking that first step was the best decision.

Forty-Nine is available on Amazon, Barnes&Noble online.

I’m stoked that this community exists!

[self-promo] Dystopian Sci-Fi - On Kindle and Kindle Unlimited

Hello!

This post is part self-promotion, part call for assistance.

First the self promotion part:

I wrote a near-future slow-burn dystopian thriller that follows a young couple as the world around them falls apart. Here is the set up, a group obtains nuclear weapon technology from a destabilized Iran, bomb NYC, and the US counterstrike is thwarted by unknown forces. The response isn't what anyone expected, an authoritarian AI is established that the world gets behind to face this new, unknown 'threat' from outer space. The book is titled Forty-Nine, by me, Elmont Kristiansen

Here is the link:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G5BNNZ94

Now for the assistance part:

Kindle Unlimited page reads have been unreliable for a lot of authors, so if you do read the book in KU, can you please let me know when so I can track page reads on my side. Some of us authors are concerned we're not getting credit for page reads.

Thanks!
