ECO email recieved and a question

Hi all,

just dropping my timeline in here as I wait for my decision.

Application Date: May 3, 2026

Biometrics: May 5, 2026

ECO email: May 8, 2026

Applying outside the UK spouse visa, Priority, Category D.

so my question is, I had to submit 6 months of bank statements showing the required level of savings was held in our bank (I ended up submitting 7 months), there were 2 days into May (1-3), beyond my latest bank statement, is that a huge deal if I didn’t have a tens action statement to account for 2 days? There were no transactions in that time and the level didn’t drop

Thanks

HI all,

just looking for some advice. We started the spouse visa process (biometrics appt was today), so we’re deep in with money at this point. My husband is the UK citizen, he has wanted to return home for a long time (we tried in 2019 but it didn’t work out), and now the time is right to go back and try again. Ever since I paid for my visa a few days ago, he has been having mini panic attacks and a lot of second guessing and doubts about moving back. It’s a risk to move back and huge but we were on the same page and ready to do it. But this is extremely confusing now because he is having doubts about something that he was so sure about. Anyone else experience something like this?

It’s not totally perfect move, we are leaving a business and my job, and 2 adult children. But the payoff could be very good for us moving back.

So here are some things I learned and some tips that were helpful.

I wanted to go to the nearest VFS office but also wanted priority. They didn’t offer priority, and I searched the page for awhile trying to figure that out. If there isn’t a drop down menu under service and it just says standard then that location doesn’t offer priority.

I would definitely block off a half to a whole day to self upload. I also needed to take breaks because it was stressful. Don’t worry if the site logs you out, you can just log back in. I was told I had up to 24 hours before my appointment to upload, but I’ve heard 12 hours too so I’m not sure which it is. Just be sure to leave plenty of time.
I got a great tip to create folders on your desktop for different categories (relationship evidence, accommodation etc). Organizing my documents this way made it so much easy when it came time to upload.

Save your documents as pdfs in print mode, this bypasses error messages on the upload site. Compress larger files, they are more likely to accept the docs if compressed. You can get a free Adobe trial to do this.

Save and upload after each doc you add, I was booted out of the website twice and I lost my progress.

There is no “final” submit button, I searched for one but it doesn’t exist! What you do get is an email with your appointment confirmation and a list up the documents you uploaded. You have to print this out and take it to your bio appt. Make sure you print the last email of this you get (you get an email every time you upload a doc). You can upload multiple docs at once but it’s a pain if one has any issue, you will have to redo it.

Hope this helps!

Hi all,

My British husband and I share 3 children; they are 23, 19, 15; they all hold British citizenship. For purposes of filling out the spouse visa, how are they classified? Are they my dependants, are they just my husband’s dependants or both our dependants? Do I only list our 15 year old? All 3 children live with us. But only the 15 year old is moving with us. I’m so confused!!!

Hi all, I will applying for my initial spouse visa in the next few weeks. I’m concerned that my daughter’s British passport has expired. Does it need to be renewed before I apply or can I explain it is in the renewal proces? I don’t want to delay my spouse visa application if I don’t have to

thanks
