I made this cute little guy!

I'm making a video-game about Birdwatching in Atlantic Canada, and just had to make this adorable little plover. What do you think?

I want to be careful of self-promotion, but since I've had a number of people asking me, the game is >Look to the Birds!<

I'm trying to make the journal feel a bit personalized. I would have liked the player to be able to custom sticker it and such, but that's way out of scope X) Color and name for now!
Any thoughts on the flow?

I'm making a birdwatching game set in Atlantic Canada, and I want to make sure the birds are recognizable enough to transfer to real-life birding!
This one is meant to be a >!Herring Gull!<
I didn't realize how many species of Gull there were until I started researching. It's crazy!

Since I've had a number of people asking me, the game is Look to the Birds.

In my game there's one part where a player can type in a nickname. For gamepad it pulls up the virtual keyboard where it's available, which would be the steamdeck, but not on Desktop. To qualify for full controller support, do I need to provide for someone playing on Desktop with no keyboard, only a gamepad?
The alternative is to make my own on-screen keyboard (not worth it for one little entry), or use a plugin to access Steam's keyboard.

Does anyone know?

EDIT:

Steam support got back to me.

>To qualify for full controller support, the player should be able to enter the nickname without the need of the keyboard. Controller reviews are performed in Steam's big picture mode that features a virtual keyboard. You can code your game to make it appear when trying to enter the nickname. You can check this page under "ShowGamepadTextInput" to implement this: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/api/ISteamUtils Steam Support
