Favourite social medias or communities here?

Hello, I'm looking for some alternatives to tumblr as I finally dipped my toes in and didn't enjoy it. AO3 is great as there isn't censorship but it isn't social media, and I'd like to start really making some friends in fandom spaces.

I believe that people can do what they want, no matter how weird or gross I find it, as long as they're not causing harm. You like writing stories where people eat poop? Go for it. That being said, I'm not interested in spaces where people draw or write explicit content of child characters. Not my thing, I don't want to engage. Blocking is a necessary feature for whatever platform I settle on.

Closed communities would preferably be 18+ as I do draw and write NSFW content, but I do not give my id out on the internet under any circumstances (especially in this scenario, given how some people can be about adults doing adult stuff on the internet) so age-restricted Discord servers for example are kind of off the table. At least until I find a VPN I trust, and actually cancel Netflix so I can afford it lmao.

I'm thinking Bluesky might be my best bet, but I find the whole site kind of overwhelming. Having a few people happy to meet me over there might make the transition a bit easier, I suppose. I *might* open up to Tumblr again, but there are a handful of people on there I've silently distanced myself from because they give me the sense they're kind of Anti- ticking time bombs, and I worry they would recognise my art style or writing style and it would cause me hassle should they come across a new blog. Yes, I am seeking an OCD assessment haha.

I won't dump anything about myself here, but I'm happy to receive DMs from anyone that might know a place I could slip into. Thanks for reading this and I hope some of us end up getting on with eachother 😄
