This Fiio M33 is completely blowing my mind. I think its easily the DAP of the year that actually makes sense to carry around. Not too big not too heavy. Not cheap but not too expensive. Fast and zippy 8gb of ram feels like a modern smart phone. 1100mw of power for even my audeze planars.

If you want it more technical like the dx270 you can just switch on sound enhancement, or oversampling, or dsd, or combinations of them all. But you also get global eq unlike the dx270.

Personally I like it NOS mode as analog as possible. Once you hear it its so addictive. I loved my delta sigma stuff but now when I AB its harsh and fake sounding.

Its just so natural. With the mega7 its more than technical enough too. Theres no downsides. Battery lasts all day and you can run it in desktop mode or as your USB dac from your computer. This thing is making me love just listening again. It can make older poor recorded things sound much better and it makes great recordings sound unreal.

Great sound. Good snappy speed processor and 8gb ram. Great power for my iems up to my lcd5 over ears.

Im a big eq guy and somehow this DAP works with my various headphones without needing any eq. It just makes everything sound so natural yet detailed.

I like no oversampled best for iems.

With my lcdx I like to do the DSD mode.

With lcd5 I usually do the sound enhancement option.

There's 3 or 4 various options to take it from smooth r2r pure to hybrid to nearly a delta sigma sound.

The dx270 was about 5 to 10 percent better but it has 4gb ram and no global eq if needed. And costs almost double. Just couldn't justify it nor did I see the need.

The fiio m33 is the more complete actually use out and about product. The dx270 worried me for bringing it out and about. Just too precious.

Its also a clear step up in refinement over the m21 for those wondering.
