WIBTA for reporting my coworker for this?
I (21F) have been working at a pretty big outlet store in a busy part of town for almost a year. I have a coworker, K (late 20s F), who's been there much longer than me. My main problem is that K constantly disrespects everyone's time.
K is notoriously late to work. We have a meeting before every shift and because she's late, she often interrupts these meetings, and some information can't be discussed because we're waiting for her. Our lunch break is 30 minutes (6 hour shifts) and she very often (almost always) takes 40-50 minute lunch breaks. Breaks are scheduled, so we can't go on lunch unless the person before us is back from theirs. This means anyone who's after K goes on break 10-20 minutes late. There were multiple instances where I couldn't go on break even though I was STARVING because K was taking her sweet time. She also takes the saying "act your wage" VERY seriously. She's very slow and tedious, so oftentimes we have to work instead of her.
What happened today inspired this post. I was on a shift with K and me, K and another girl were on the same floor (3 story shop), the third girl being in the fitting rooms, and me and K being responsible for organising everything for closing. Managers divided the floor equally between us. We both got small tasks, I finished first. K went to lunch 10 minutes late because she was chatting with a coworker, then came back 15 minutes late. While she very slowly and calmly organised one out of her 2 remaining sections, I finished the rest of the floor alone. Me and the third girl didn't touch her remaining section because we wanted to see when she'd be done. Our managers asked why she hasn't finished her sections, and she made up excuses.
We have a website where we can anonymously report coworkers for breaking rules or harrassment and stuff like that. I'm seriously thinking about reporting K for giving us twice as much work because she takes her sweet old time. I'm not the only one upset about this. Multiple coworkers have mentioned her taking very long breaks which push other people's lunches back, people have to do her job instead of her because she's slow or doing something completely unrelated to what she was given. She's also had some other issues with coworkers aside from the time thing.
Why I think I might be the AH if I do this is because we easily could've just helped her, and also her being late is really none of my business. This also doesn't seem like a big enough problem for a whole anonymous report. But I'm not the only one upset about this, and even though management knows, nothing ever happens.
So WIBTA?
