partner visa but not living together
Hello friends, I just wanted to seek opinions on my situation with me and my partner. We have been dating since 2024 that’s gonna be two years of dating in November. I am on a graduate visa and we’re not living together yet. We don’t plan on living together until we buy our own property because we don’t believe in renting. While we both do have time still since my visa expires early next year, what would be the smartest move here?
Does immigration accept couples (registered) who are not living together but have explained why? He’s living with his parents rent free and I live at a sharehouse with a rent of 150 a week so we’re both full on saving money for a house deposit. Will the government consider our situation or is there a high chance of refusal? Looking for similar stories as to mine to help me and my partner further the next steps. Thanks a lot!
