AITA For taking my family to court?
AITA? I want to take my young family member to court for a vacation they told me they couldn’t afford to go on after experiencing hardship. They were laid off from a job after 10 years. I truly could have just modified the trip and remove that portion of the family but I encouraged her to still come since all of the children would be there, I didn’t want them to miss out on our family gathering together. I originally said they could pay me once things got better. I have not reached out directly (sort of) but I want to go file a small claims case against them but do not want to look bad with the family. I am older and settled in retirement after doing well for myself so I am not hurting but the atmosphere on the trip rubbed me the wrong way and I want my money now. AITA?
Side note: I already sent a demand letter 5 days after the trip demanding my money by next week.
