Drop yours in the comments, 90% (probably like 23) of those vics are from after I realized I need more experience before trying to build my own decks. Then I started using Marnies Grimmsnarl.

(TL;DR) Thought I was the shit and only used self built decks as a beginner, got humbled (~4 wins out of 50+ matches), started using a pre built deck and winning. Need help with supporter recovery/general deck upgrades (explained why in full post).

Short story long, I’ve been in the Pokemon hobby since Feb. started out by collecting then got PTCGL in March and now I’ve been to 1 local league event (May Challenge/went Thursday) and Im going to a Pre-Release tournament for Chaos Rising today. So obviously Im still a beginner and trying to catch up, Im even lost on some of the terms used when referring to the game lol. However, and idk why, I thought I could already builds decks and use them efficiently. After around 80 losses and some very humbling Reddit comments, I started using a Pre-Built deck I found on here (Marnie’s) and so far as of these last two days I think I’ve played around 15 matches and lost 5 of them not counting wins from conceding opp. So obviously I’m doing better!

Im aware I need ALOT more experience so keep that in mind while reading this next part, While using this deck I’ve had trouble with sacrificing a couple mons mainly budew and sometimes snorunt (if I dont get a chance to evolve and my opp. does bench damage). I was wondering if there’s a way to help with that a little mainly bc there were a couple times that I lost by 2/1 prize card because of that. I also haven’t really had to use Pecharunt ex too much and I’ve used Yvetal even less (Basically none) so idk if Im not utilizing him enough or I just haven’t been in a situation where I needed him. Any advice for those problems along with general advice/upgrade suggestions for my current deck will be very appreciated!!

Took it on the third round he could only get one Pokémon on his bench and one on his active spot before I wiped both out using team rockets meowth + team Rockets energy. Last round he moved his only bench Pokémon to the active spot. Then I used Haughty Order to do 160 dmg to his pkmn. First ever real win out of like 100 matches.
