It has a good amount of shale and multiple large resource deposits, it is one of the safest biomes and the main dangers are just Tiger Plants, it is right next to the BKT, one Grassy Plateau, the Grand Reef, one Kelp Forest, and the Sea Treaders Path. It has very quick access to the Lost River through the BKT, and just has a cool creepy vibe. It also has a ton of time capsules and Lifepod 19. And the Floating Island is very close, giving near instant access to the Mountain Island, Thermal Plant, and Lava Lakes.
