I've been having a really rough year, a very difficult week, and just feel really sad today. My daughter (10F) went to a real hair salon for the first time (not kid clips or great clips) after deciding she wanted a special haircut. She has been so excited for the past two weeks, and she was talking about it all night last night and could not wait to go when we got home. I was really excited for her too.
She was part way through the haircut and the stylist called me over and told me she had to stop because my daughter has lice.
I have never had lice, I let her be fairly independent and had not been checking her head for lice... she is a sweet girl and took it all in stride, but I feel so sad what was supposed to be a sweet and special day was ruined. I feel like a total failure as a mom.
