Hello, 29F here and I am terrified I have breast cancer. Starting from the beginning, in July 2024 I started having breast pain, as well as a lump in R breast, the pain was very similar to when I got mastitis during breast feeding (I had not breast fed in 7-8 months at this point). The breast pain then turned into full blown mastitis symptoms. Went and was seen, got diagnosed with mastitis unknown cause. Started antibiotics finished antibiotics, put on more antibiotics because symptoms persisted. Finally all symptoms resolved besides the pain (less severe at this point but still uncomfortable) and the lump. PCP sent me in for ultrasound and ultrasound came back negative, sent again for ultrasound because my pcp couldn’t believe nothing was found with the size of the lump. Sono again came back negative. Pain continues and it’s affecting my quality of life. Referred to a surgeon. Surgeon examines and feels lump also. Surgeon orders another ultrasound sound. You guessed it, it was negative. Both docs say they are not concerned that it’s breast cancer (because breast cancer doesn’t hurt), and to continue to monitor it with a six month ultrasound, and then yearly ultrasounds. PCP did suggest a breast MRI but insurance wouldn’t cover it and I was not in a place to be able to pay for it out of pocket. I continue on with life dealing with the pain. (This has been a span of 1 year)We hit Oct 2025 and do the 6 month ultrasound, again clear. Pain still present, so surgeon injects area with cortisone. Pain does lessen but lump is still present. Fast-forward to now, and the pain has returned with a vengeance, and there’s a new lump as well as a lymph node that feels swollen. Now my L breast is painful as well with a small lump, and I had a pimple like painful spot on my nipple. I squeezed it (yes I know that was dumb) and pus/blood came out. No other symptoms besides pain, and the lumps though, but I am so freaked out that it is cancer, and I have now let it get worse by not pushing the subject over the last two years. I also forgot to add that if my nipples are stimulated that a tiny amount of breast milk comes out and it’s been like 2.5 years since breastfeeding (not sure if that has anything to do with anything). Has anyone had any similar experiences?
