Had the most amazing time on my Timmies run today

Today, I witnessed humanity in its greatest form at Tim Hortons. I saw a nice employee helping an elderly man order. He asked for her to butter his biscuit because he has shaking hands she helped him, and he wanted to give her his tip, but she politely declined because it's against company policy.

The store was also in emuculate condition, super clean, no trash overflowing or on the ground. No homeless people loitering. And the washrooms! No needles on the floor, super clean!

All is not lost Canada, everytime I see that Canada leaf on a timmies cup I can't lose hope.

I am a new Austinite who escaped the Cummunist Republic of Canada.

First of all, I want all my new nonbinaries to welcome this Austinite to town! It is my pleasure to put down roots here and I am looking for local hangs and places to meet new peeps. So Holla at your zer, please!

Secondly, I used to get like super duper triggered every time I heard someone call Canada the 51st State, like seriously?! But having grown up under Trudeau and Governor Carney, seeing my taxes go up and up and my Healthcare go down and down, I get it!

I am proud to call myself an Austinite now and escape the low morale, anti-success, and easily triggered Canadians. When I told "friends" and "family" that I was making the move and opening a new salon in Austin I was ridiculed, accused of being a "bigot" and traitor all because I was tired of being surrounded by peoples who had no ambition and severe TDS.

Happy to be in Austin and looking forward to all of the memories I will be making with fellow Austinites!

Austin's 'Go Green or Go Back to California' recycling program is hurting my small business.

For the last decade, I have traded in rare earth metals in the Austin area. My business was simple, people would throw away their used rare earth minerals and metals and I would trade them to Austin City Rare Earth Metal Recycle Depot. Usually for $5.00 a troy once.

It has become increasingly difficult to source said rare earth metals in the past 6 months or so due to Austin's aggressive 'Go Green or Go Back to California' program.

Governments used to care about us, they made life affordable and they always stayed out of our way. Nowadays it seems you can't drink through a paper straw without Spencer Pratt telling us Karen Bass burned down his house or Ilhan Omar telling us her 14 cousins outside Mogosotta definitely didn't steal taxpayer dollars through an elaborate off shore fishing vessel. What gives Austin?

34M Over 100 Countries

I just downloaded the Been app to finally check off all the places I've been. Up until recently I was just traveling, returning to places I've been before and not counting countries at all. Of these countries, I have been to 80 at least twice.

Honestly, I haven't gone out of my way to country count, had I, I would have been to probably 160-175 countries at this point.

Now that I've seen it on a map finally it makes me wonder how much effort it would take to complete the 197 or so countries.

What are your thoughts on country counting? The world is a huge place and there's so much to see. Which is why I love returning to many places I've been numerous times.

Bonus question: Why do YOU travel?
