First scoby mould!

First scoby mould!

Hi folks. My first scoby started one week ago and I left it to do its thing. I know this is mould so my question is, what now? Do I dump it and start again or take the mould out? I’m assuming it’s dump and start again. But I thought I’d ask.

UPDATE 1: Chucked it all out. Bought same unpasteurised kombucha and started again. This time I left boiling water in the jar for 5 minutes or so before I made the tea. I used 80g sugar with a litre of tea. It’s currently cooling and I’ll add the kombucha in 20 mins or so. I’m gonna move it from the space I had the last one to a warmer one that shouldn’t drop below 20°c
