I'm looking to build this around our pool this spring after adding some additional concrete in blue. I thought anchoring the posts to the pad would be more than sufficient but a quick query of Gemini has me second-guessing that assumption. The posts are 6x6s and we're in a region where roofs are designed around a 20 lb/sf snow load. The lumber weighs about 1750 lbs. With snow loads that's like 41 PSI? Obviously there are the winds to think about as well.

I was thinking of offsetting the post bases about 6" from the edge of the slab to avoid cracking when drilling for the anchor.
