Should I get a new Kendama?

Been playing for about a year or so - I don't do much outside of cups. I'm not great with hole control but I pick this thing up nearly every day and love a good spike when it happens. I have a dream of landing a yank spike...

Wife has been saying to get a new one, but at my current level I don't know if it would even be beneficial, or if I should just keep using this one until I truly feel like I need one or this one breaks. This is an entry level Sweets model - do you think I should upgrade, or have an recommendations?
