I wanted to open up a discussion for those who are making their own characters inspired by the Posterior Neocortex/Skill System in the game.
I’ve honestly been really inspired by the way the potential of Skills can give an easy insight into writing a character’s personality. Even just by reading the descriptions of the skills you can gain a pretty good insight into Harry’s personality & psyche & I’ve been trying to learn the same tactics to inform my own characters (both based in the world of Elysium & outside it).
I was wondering if anyone else had experience with utilising this sort of technique. Creating your own skills to further your own writing?
His headband was a bit of a pain to get close to right but I’m pretty proud of him. Made entirely without Kitbashing. If there’s any other superheroes/comic characters you want me to try & make I’ll do my best.
Link to Shaft (warning it is mirrored to get the arm cover right).

(The ongoing case of OuterSpaceWays Incorporated vs The People of Egypt is currently ongoing & any direct insinuation that the Pyramid design was not invented by OSWInc’s Galactic Tourism Board is pure libel & will result in further legal action).
Original Memes: I Made This, Squidward When I’m in a…, Coolyori/Sayori Drake meme.
I was doing research into running a OWOD game (or making something based on WOD‘s strange lore) when I fell into a rabbit hole related to the origins of the real Technocracy founded by amongst others this guy above, Howard Scott.
Not much is known about him, he was actively described as mysterious apparently having been born in 1890 Virginia & claiming to be Europe educated but records only show him appearing in 1918 in NYC. He seems fascinating having once made a disastrous attempt at running for Presidency (imagine that universe), having watercolours of phalluses in his office & being described as a ‘Bohemian Engineer’ (know that I think about it if he hadnt been part of the Union he might be a great Ecstatic mage). If he hasn’t been mentioned in a WOD sourcebook I don’t really know why given how much the games love to put historical figures as vampires, mages & changelings.
If anyone has any information on Scott in the World of Darkness I’d be grateful to hear about it & what would you do with this historical figure (& are there any others you would want to see in the WOD?)
With the new wave of Lego sets & the news of the Lego animated special coming in September it got me thinking (even though it probably would never happen). If given the chance would you play a One Piece Lego video game in the style of The Traveller’s Tales adaptation games (Batman, Avengers, Star Wars, Harry Potter, POTC, etc)?
Because I could really see it working between the comedic adventurous vibes of both matching perfectly, the Devil Fruits & various other abilities being easily adaptable into gameplay styles (like Mr Fantastic esque gameplay for Luffy) & the variety of interesting locations for levels I honestly think it could have a chance to really work (given how much Oda stated he loves Lego!).
It would obviously have to be split into multiple games (but Lego has done that before with the Skywalker Saga & HP games) but what do you think! Do you think this idea would work? What ideas w you have for the game?
In your homemade worlds if they have a creation myth how many people in the world know about it & how accurate is it?
Do those in power attempt to twist it to their own favour, has the knowledge been lost over time, has it just been grossly misinterprete?
As an example in the world I’m currently creating the world was first created by the dreams of a giant deity & it’s many assistants but it was interrupted by a malformed creation sneaking its way into the centre of the plane & causing a great calamity as it tried to fuse itself with the centre. This lead to the modern day where the creation is worshipped & the majority of knowledge regarding the real history of the world is locked away by those who are using its power to subjugate others.
Any questions about him, his backstory, powers or design inspirations I’ll Gladly answer in the comments below:)!
In the early 16th century a chivalric romance book was published called ‘Las Sergas de Esplandián’ or The Adventures of Esplandian. In it a knight called Esplandian goes to an island where gold is plentiful & the warriors ride Griffins.
When Spanish Explorers learnt of a supposed island (really the Baja Peninsula) off the coast of the mainland they named it California in honour of the book & from the 16th century to the 18th century California was depicted as an island on many maps.
This TL depicts a world where that story was true & there is actually a kingdom of warrior women who ride Griffins that colonisers attempt to conquer & subsequently fail.
The person depicted in the meme is Eusebio Kino, a Spanish missionary in charge of documenting the region & establishing various missions, he also proved that the Baja California strait was not an island which in TTL it obviously is.
(If you have any other questions I’d be happy to try & answer:)! )
I’ve been on a recent kick of investigating pirate & generally nautical myths, legends, folklore & superstitions & I wanted to ask the wider community (since you all seem so Knowledgeable) what your favourite myth/story surrounding Pirates is?
It can be a mythical location like an island, a supposed pirate or even just a general pirate superstition I’m interested in hearing it all!
The above image comes from one of my favourite odd tidbits I found whilst diving through Wikipedia, it’s the ‘Hand of Satan’ a supposed giant hand that is seen in Indian folklore that also supposedly protects an island called Satanazes which is inhabited by devils by dragging boats to the bottom of the ocean!
I’ve been trying to iron out a few ideas & I may have accidentally created a fantasy universe. My “thought process” is below…
I wonder what would happen if California never joined the USA/if Cascadia existed? -> learn California was named on an obscure spanish novel about an island of Warrior women -> decide to make the ruler from that book a real historical figure -> it turns out they all have Griffins & the book also implies that Arthurian style chivalric romance was real…
I mean I’m not going to stop now.
Enriquez Debaroy/The Black Corsair is the most recent character I’ve thought of for my WIP Worldbuilding Superhero Project.
He comes from an island called Libertalia only accessible through a portal to a realm called the ’Astral Sea’ located in the Bermuda Triangle where he is part of one of the isles Royal Families (not Royal in a monarchist sense they’re basically pirate guild leaders). His father was a pilot who flew into a cosmic tear to Libertalia & ended up falling in love with one of the Pirate Queens only to be forcibly removed from the island due to being an outsider so Enriquez has never met him but has learnt of the outside world due to a series of Swashbuckling books & comics he left behind.
When he was old enough he was inspired to leave his home & adventure to Earth to find his father & protect the common man from corrupt forces through his Swashbuckling skills.
Any questions on his character or advice on how to improve him is welcome:)
I’m sorry if this is a commonly asked question but I’m currently working on creating a mythology of my own & I began to wonder what was, if there even is a difference between what constitutes a Mythology, a Folk Story and a Religion?
I think I understand a few basics principles but I am still a bit confused & would appreciate some clarification.
For example why was Heracles semi-deified (beyond his parentage) & had multiple heroic mystery cults for him when Samson from Israelite texts is though of as a religious figure & just a man (I’m sorry if this is a bad example in my time zone it’s late & I‘m not fully sure I’m thinking this through).
Any explanation would be appreciated in the comments thank you :)!
I’ve been working on & off on a pitch for a sequel to/ultimate/absolute take on the Amalgam Universe called Reaccessed & one of the characters I made for it was a fusion/child between Marvel’s Eternity & DC’s Kismet based on their interactions in a number of Crossovers between the two universes.
Their name Continuum is meant to be a play on the space-time continuum with Eternity & Kismet being the space & time retrospectively.
What do you think?
A HeroForge adaptation of a Superhero idea I made when I was 12 or so.
(I hope he counts :)! )
