I feel being locked to apple mainly due to my data in icloud, is there an alternative that would allow me to switch between iPhone and android?

Does anyone feel being vendor locked in ios or android due to the data you have in cloud or google cloud? Any advice on moving to a vendor neutral cloud storage solution?
