Let me vent a little and I am open to a conversation about ring.
Ring has been nothing but a nightmare to use where I will never use a wireless doorbell or cloud security system again.
Every. Single. Time I need to change a battery in one of my three camera it requires a FULL reset of the camera and FULL initial setup again. This setup always is a struggle. To unable to connect to the "ring wifi" or its inability to connect to my wifi which it sits comfortably near. I have gotten extenders, New routers and New providers over the years NOTHING has ever made it where a battery swap was not a 30-60 minute ordeal. The worst part it I pay monthly for a subscription for a service that is objectively awful.
I have tried every single trick online to get these cameras to work nothing keeps them working. Ring is only consistently inconsistent.
My plan is switching to hardwired security system with an home server to just escape the awful service that Ring provides. I remember when ring first came to market it was great. Now? Come on let’s be honest it’s been going downhill for years.
I truly have no idea how Ring has great reviews online.
Please let me know how your experiences is because currently I cannot see how anyone could applaud this system.
Small update: After 26 minutes. Demounting the front door camera to bring it right next to the router. Its connected. But not showing a preview or live feed. Next to the router. Ring what are we doing? Is this a product you are proud of?
Update two: Wont connect again. Not even six foot from the extender. Garbage product.
