I recently did a blood test, checking alot of things.

As you can see, I'm low folate which I guess isnt weird since I very rarely eat vegetables. My diet has been trash for many years. Fast food several days a week. I just learned I have a fatty liver, high colesterol and some other things. I drink copious amounts of soda every day, and snack on garbage every day. I don't exercise. The "exercise" I get is at work being a construction worker.

I'm 33 years old, 6'4" and 300 lbs, and it ain't much muscle.

My symptoms for many years have been tremors that can occur any place on my body (usually on a leg or arm), eye lid and thumb twitches, feeling of cold spots on my skin, TERRIBLE fatigue, muscle pains, headaches.

But does this really have to do with B12/folate tho? Considering my BMI being high I probably have sleep apnea. I do snore like a chainsaw I know that.

My iron (19 µmol/L) and ferritin (227 µg/L) was good.

Anyway, it's time to make a change, I've gone way to far.

I was recommended to take folate pills, the question is should I supplement B12 also? This is what the doctor who reviewed my results said (note: it was written in swedish but I ran it through google translate):

>Folate is 5.5 nmol/L, below the reference limit, and homocysteine of 19 μmol/L is elevated — this confirms a manifest folate deficiency. Folate deficiency may be due to insufficient intake, but can also be seen in diseases affecting nutrient absorption (e.g. celiac disease) or alcohol consumption. I recommend that you discuss this with your health center doctor to investigate the cause. Folic acid supplement (400 μg/day) is recommended pending investigation. B12 at 208 pmol/L is located in the lower normal range but has risen over the years — the deficiency is unlikely B12-powered. Vitamin D at 42 nmol/L is at a deficiency level (clinical limit 50). Supplement 2000 IU/day 2-3 months, then 800-1000 IU maintenance. Magnesium is normal.

When he says it has risen over the years, I did a test 2017 to and my B12 was 154 pmol/L back then and folate 15 nmol/L. I have never taken supplements. They said my B12 was "within the normal reference range but on the lower side" then. I never did anything because I hadn't really heard about B12 back then i didnt know it was that important.

I'm seeing a doctor in 3 weeks, what do you all think? Should I just get folate pills? Is my B12 ok? And clearly I aim to lose weight and start eating healthier, I wanna live a few more years at least.
